Floreana, Galápagos

The smallest inhabited island, with a handful of guesthouses and a past full of pirates, whalers and settlers. Most visitors come on a day trip from Santa Cruz.

Short answer: Floreana is best as a day trip from Santa Cruz (the boat leaves Puerto Ayora around 08:00 and takes about 2 hours). Stay overnight only if you want real quiet: there are few beds and you should bring cash.
